Sexy Justice is brought to you by Edify.

Edify [ed-if-fie]
Verb
To encourage growth, to build up, to strengthen.

The Edify program is an initiative of The Salvation Army’s Streetlevel Mission based in the inner-city suburb of Surry Hills in Sydney, Australia. Since its inception in 2008, the program has sought to educate, expose, equip and empower all people, in particular the next generation, to serve on the frontlines alongside the poor and disadvantaged in a domestic context.

OUR MISSION: What are we here for?

Edify exists “to train, equip and empower all people (especially the next generation) to engage in a lifestyle of mission for the long haul.”

OUR VISION: How do we accomplish this?

We aim to accomplish this by fostering personal growth in individuals, connecting them with the poor and marginalised and participating in the rebuilding, restoring and renewal of broken lives and communities. At Edify there are three different ways to get involved:

Certificate IV in Youth Work (CHC41808): A national qualification offering a holistic approach to youth work from a Christian worldview.

Internship: A 10-month ‘live-in’ residential gap year, which in addition to offering a Certificate IV in Youth Work involves discipleship, mentoring and training in the areas of domestic mission, theology, personal development, spiritual formation and engaging culture.

STUMP (Short Term Urban Mission Project): A week-long domestic mission trip in the inner city giving all people the chance to experience mission in their own backyard.

Talk is cheap. Walk the talk.
